4 Reasons to attend the 2015 Risk Management Summit
The 2015 Risk Management Summit is less than a month away. Executives from more than 100 banks and credit unions representing 39 states have already registered to join their peers, industry experts and Sageworks in Chicago for the premier ALLL and stress testing conference. Registration is still open, but very limited seats remain. Here’s why this is the most popular Risk Management Summit to date:
1. Network and collaborate with peers. Since the Summit is focused on the allowance and stress testing, attendees have the opportunity to network with peers involved in those same areas – something not found at most other industry conferences. In addition, after a successful debut at the 2014 Summit, the peer group roundtable discussions return to the agenda. These roundtable discussions provide a unique opportunity to discuss challenges with peer institutions and how to overcome them.
2. Hear the latest on the FASB’s CECL model. The release of final guidance on the FASB’s CECL model is expected before the end of the year. To help institutions prepare, the 2015 Summit will feature sessions dedicated to the new model, including a panel discussion, “The Latest on the FASB’s CECL Model and How to Prepare,” featuring experts from KPMG, Grant Thornton, CliftonLarsonAllen and Sageworks. Other sessions on qualitative factors, troubled debt restructurings (TDRs) and acquisition accounting will discuss how those areas will change under an expected loss model. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear how their peers are starting to prepare.
3. Gain ALLL and stress testing insights from the industry’s top experts. Even with all of the attention on the CECL model, there are many other challenging areas within the ALLL calculation and stress testing loan portfolios. Experts from Grant Thornton, KPMG, CliftonLarsonAllen, McGladrey and Dixon Hughes Goodman, among others, will cover topics like ALLL model validation, TDRs, loss emergence period (LEP), building blocks for effective loan portfolio stress testing and more.
4. Attend Banker Appreciation Night. Summit attendees receive an exclusive invitation to Banker Appreciation Night, to be held on Lake Michigan aboard Odyssey. The skyline dinner cruise will provide ample time to network, enjoy live music and see the unmatched Chicago skyline.
Clients of Sageworks will have the opportunity to attend up to five user-only breakout sessions. In addition to sessions on Sageworks ALLL, Sageworks Stress Testing and Sageworks Management Reporting, advanced user sessions on Sageworks ALLL and Sageworks Management Reporting have been added to this year’s agenda.
