October 26th – BSA/AML Day | Nationally Recognized

Professionals across the nation encouraged to celebrate National Financial Crime Fighter Day. 

Part of our commitment here at Abrigo is to continue to spread the word about BSA/AML and continue to advocate on behalf of you -- BSA/AML professionals. We started that effort in full-force in 2017, with an idea to create a nationally recognized holiday – BSA/AML Professional Day – to be observed on October 26th each year.

Last year, we received support from our home city (Austin) and our home state (Texas) by way of formal proclamations. This year, we set an even loftier goal – to receive recognition of BSA/AML Professional Day in all 50 states and with a uniform, nationwide recognition. After months of work and dedication, we are proud to announce that not only do we have formal proclamations from five states, but the National Day Calendar has officially added National Financial Crime Fighter Day to the calendar.

You may be asking what is so special about October 26. It was on that day in 2001 that President Bush signed the USA PATRIOT Act into effect, ultimately cementing the importance of BSA/AML professionals in protecting our financial system. It is a day that deserves to be recognized and we are thrilled to now have it honored each year.
