Sometimes completing your to-do list can feel like an uphill climb. Someone who knows a lot about climbing to incredible heights is Alison Levine, the motivational speaker for BUG 2017.

Alison is a polar explorer and mountaineer who has helped shape history. She served as team captain for the first American Women’s Everest Expedition. She also climbed the highest peak on each continent and skied to both the North and South Poles – a feat known as the Adventure Grand Slam, which fewer than forty people in the world have achieved. She made history in 2008 as the first American to complete a 600-mile journey from west Antarctica to the South Pole and again in 2016 when she completed the first ascent of Antarctica’s Hall Peak. Alison’s success is in spite of three heart surgeries and Raynaud’s disease, which puts her at increased risk for frostbite.

In addition to her achievements in the extreme elements, Alison has also enjoyed great success in her professional career. She has an MBA from Duke University, worked for Goldman Sachs for three years and served as deputy finance director for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s campaign for Governor of California. She spent four years teaching at the United States Military Academy at West Point, and is the author of On the Edge: Leadership Lessons Learned from Mount Everest and other Extreme Environments. These are only some of Alison’s accomplishments; click here to read her full biography.

At the Banker’s Toolbox User Group Conference, Alison will speak on the topics of creating cohesive teams, taking responsible risks and developing no-nonsense leaders that can succeed in times of uncertainty. Other BUG speakers include BSA/AML industry experts such as Chip Poncy, who helped write the beneficial ownership rule, FBI agents, homeland security professionals, law enforcement experts and more. BUG is a great way for BAM users to network, learn and take their BSA/AML and fraud expertise to the next level.
