Rocky Bleier announced as Summit Guest Speaker
Sageworks is pleased to announce war veteran and Super Bowl Champion Rocky Bleier will be a guest speaker for the 3rd Annual Risk Management Summit. The premier conference for banking executives, covering the ALLL, stress testing and risk management best practices, will be held September 24-26 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Bleier will inspire attendees through his incredible story, which began when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1968, despite his unconventional running back physique. Before completing his first season in the NFL, he was drafted by the U.S. Army to serve in the Vietnam War. After injury in battle, he was barely able to walk, and it seemed his football career was over before it truly began.
Over the course of the next two years, he fought his way back to make the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster. He became the starting running back in 1974 and in 1976 became, alongside Franco Harris, the second pair of running backs to each run for 1,000 yards in the same season. When his career ended in 1980, he had achieved four Super Bowl victories (IX, X, XII and XIV), despite the obstacles due to his size and injuries.
Bleier joins a dynamic speaker list comprising bank and credit union experts from firms like CliftonLarsonAllen, Crowe Horwath, CEIS Review, Synergy Bank Consulting and RMPI Consulting. Risk management topics to be discussed include but aren’t limited to
• FASB’s CECL Model: What Next?
• Upgrading the ALLL with Migration Analysis
• Stress Testing: What Examiners Expect
• ALLL & Stress Testing Model Validation
• Peer Group Roundtables
