Reducing Environmental Impact Through Cloud Technology

Abrigo delivers software solutions digitally, minimizing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing, shipping, and maintaining physical products.

Our products on either Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure, two of the world’s largest cloud infrastructure providers. By leveraging modern cloud architecture, Abrigo benefits from AWS and Azure investments in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable data center design.

According to AWS, its infrastructure can be up to 4.1 times more energy efficient than comparable on-premises environments and can reduce the carbon footprint of workloads by up to 99%. AWS also reported matching 100% of the electricity consumed across its operations with renewable energy sources in 2025.

Similarly, Microsoft has committed to matching 100% of its electricity consumption with zero-carbon energy purchases by 2030 and continues to invest in sustainable datacenter operations, including water conservation, waste reduction, and renewable energy initiatives.

This cloud-first strategy helps Abrigo scale innovation while reducing the environmental footprint associated with traditional data center operations.

AI Sustainability

Generative AI capabilities are becoming an increasingly important component of modern financial services software. Abrigo products that incorporate artificial intelligence do so through Amazon Bedrock or Microsoft AI Foundry, each of which are managed platforms for foundation models and generative AI services.

Because Abrigo’s AI capabilities operate on Amazon Bedrock or Microsoft AI Foundry, the environmental profile of those AI workloads is directly tied to AWS and Azure infrastructure investments in:

Renewable and carbon-free energy procurement

Data center energy efficiency

Water stewardship and replenishment programs

Carbon reduction and removal initiatives

Sustainable hardware lifecycle management

AWS continues to invest in energy-efficient infrastructure, advanced cooling technologies, carbon-free energy projects, and water-positive initiatives designed to reduce the environmental impact of large-scale computing workloads. AWS has publicly committed to reaching net-zero carbon by 2040 and becoming water positive by 2030.

Microsoft continues to invest in highly efficient cloud infrastructure that supports AI and advanced computing workloads while pursuing its broader sustainability commitments. Azure services have been reported to be up to 93% more energy efficient and up to 98% more carbon efficient than traditional enterprise data centers, and Microsoft has committed to becoming carbon negative, water positive, and zero waste by 2030.

As AI adoption grows, Abrigo remains committed to deploying AI capabilities in a manner that delivers meaningful customer value while leveraging hyperscale cloud infrastructure designed for efficiency and sustainability.

Sustainable Infrastructure Strategy

Abrigo’s software and AI capabilities are primarily delivered through AWS and Azure infrastructure located in U.S. regions selected to support customer performance, resiliency, security, and sustainability objectives.

AWS’s Well-Architected Framework identifies sustainability as a consideration in cloud workload design and recommends selecting regions that align with both business and environmental goals. AWS also maintains renewable energy investments and sustainability programs associated with regions serving U.S. customers, including Northern Virginia and Oregon.

Microsoft Azure similarly incorporates sustainability considerations into the design and operation of its global cloud infrastructure. Abrigo’s Azure-hosted solutions are primarily deployed within Microsoft’s North Central US and South Central US regions, which are selected to support customer performance, resiliency, security, and operational requirements. Microsoft continues to invest in energy-efficient datacenters, renewable and carbon-free energy procurement, water stewardship initiatives, and circular hardware management programs across its global cloud footprint.
