Abrigo CFO Ashley Womack named 2019 Best CFO for Large Private Companies by the Austin Business Journal

Austin, TX – July 12, 2019 – Abrigo Chief Financial Officer Ashley Womack was named the 2019 Best CFO for large private companies by the Austin Business Journal in an awards ceremony Thursday night. The award, which honors outstanding CFOs in Central Texas, recognized Womack’s role in successfully combining the financials of three separate 20-year-old businesses while keeping a growing team on track for unprecedented growth.

“When she started at Banker’s Toolbox in April 2017, Ashley Womack oversaw a team of four. Now her team numbers 20 and the business has experienced revenue growth of more than 400%,” said Austin Business Journal Managing Editor Will Anderson in the Journal’s article announcing Womack’s award.

As Anderson noted, Womack started at Abrigo when the company was Banker’s Toolbox and had one office in Austin. During the 2018 fiscal year, she was tasked with merging the financials of Banker’s Toolbox, Mainstreet Technologies, and Sageworks, three 20-year-old, founder-run startups, into one collective accounting model under the newly formed Abrigo.

“When I joined Banker’s Toolbox, it was a small company with big plans. Since then, hundreds of people have come together to create Abrigo. It has been so much fun working together to solve hard problems, helping each other win, and getting stuff done with grit, determination, and a love of our mission to help community financial institutions thrive. You have to like what you do and like the people you get to do it with,” Womack said. “This award is a tremendous honor that acknowledges and celebrates the hard work our entire finance, accounting, legal, and acquisition teams have done to get us to where we are today.”

Womack and her team also oversaw significant system installations in 2018, most notably merging all three originating companies’ NetSuite and Salesforce versions into one cohesive data feed while still handling their daily “run the business” tasks. She serves as a financial steward to the leadership team and Board of Directors, making sure they are making sound financial decisions that might impact the company both immediately and in the future on people, products, or M&A.

“Ashley Womack is the best CFO I’ve ever worked with. Abrigo would not have achieved our growth and success without her,” noted Wayne Roberts, Abrigo CEO. “Ashley is more than a CFO, though. She is a great leader and has built a strong team, which was required for us to scale and continue to make big things happen. She is someone whom I trust completely and rely upon extensively as we continue on our mission to build a great company. She and her team are deserving of this recognition and I am so happy for and proud of them.”

A graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business, Womack previously worked at Alvarez & Marsal for 12 years, most recently as interim CFO at Osmose Utilities Services, where she was hired to build out the finance function of the private equity owned organization.
