Mista Roberts-Howard

Mista Roberts-Howard is a seasoned risk professional in the financial services industry, specializing in the identification of methodologies used to facilitate money laundering. She has over 20 years of experience in various roles across all three lines of defense in risk management and control. Throughout her career, she has successfully protected financial institution assets and profitability from losses due to fraud and regulatory scrutiny. Mista has held positions as an internal auditor, quality control specialist and senior investigator, with experience in Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews, OFAC clearance, and Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) case investigations. Mista has served as a FinCEN Point of Contact for 314(a) and 314(b) requests, a single-point liaison with law enforcement, and trainer, coach and mentor in the nuances risk management to both retail staff and compliance investigators. Prior to joining Abrigo, she held a supervisory role in the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) for a large mid-west financial institution. She successfully earned her Certified Anti-Money Laundering (CAMS) designation in 2014 and continues to be a member of the ACAMS community.
