Reasons to attend

Why the ThinkBIG conference?

Abrigo’s ThinkBIG conferences have been a cornerstone of learning for lenders, risk professionals, and AML/CFT professionals for more than two decades. Banking and compliance professionals rely on the annual conference to elevate their understanding of industry shifts and regulatory pressures that hammer them daily. Attendees return from ThinkBIG energized and informed so they can continue positively impacting their institutions and, more importantly, their communities.

Consistently rated a top industry event by attendees, ThinkBIG brought together 650 people from banks, credit unions, and partners in 2023. The ThinkBIG 2024 conference is June 3-6 in Phoenix, Arizona, and with 99% of last year’s attendees saying they would recommend the conference to others, Abrigo expects another large crowd. This year’s conference will feature industry experts, financial institution peers, BSA/AML professionals, CPAs, law enforcement, auditors, and regulators selected especially for their expertise and timely knowledge. Speakers at Abrigo’s ThinkBIG conference will:

  • Spotlight current challenges facing banking professionals
  • Provide industry best practices to drive growth and manage risk
  • Offer advice on regulatory compliance.

The 2024 ThinkBIG conference offers two conference tracks along with larger general sessions that will set financial institutions up for success. The Fighting Financial Crime track will focus on BSA compliance, anti-money-laundering (AML), and fraud detection topics. The Credit + Lending + Portfolio Risk track will cover topics on managing credit risk, making smarter loans faster, managing the current expected credit loss (CECL), stress testing, and asset/liability management (ALM). Detailed ThinkBIG conference session descriptions are available by topic, and more are being added as they are confirmed.

Registration is open through May 10; additional details on the event, accommodations, and conference registration are here.

With the changing political landscape, new regulations, shifting demographics, and economic uncertainty, getting the most up-to-date information from bank and credit union industry experts and peers has never been more important.

Still on the fence about attending the ThinkBIG 2024 conference? Here are the top five reasons why your institution should register today:

Your peers recommend the ThinkBIG conference

AML/CFT, credit, lending, and portfolio risk professionals attending the ThinkBIG conference benefit from updates on regulations, trends in financial crimes, and strategies for managing current and future challenges. Don’t take our word for it, though. Here’s what attendees said about last year’s event:

“Not only did I have a lot to take away in the form of learning opportunities, but I was also able to network with like-minded people and continue those relationships after the conference,” said a BSA Officer at $1 billion Midwestern U.S. bank.

“The programming is top-notch, from big picture presentations such as the economic outlook to hot topics like CECL and the 1071 rule,” said the Senior Vice President of a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution in the Southeastern U.S. “It's also a great chance to speak with members of the product team directly and learn about what's on the Abrigo horizon.”

A credit analyst with a $230 million bank in the Midwest said, “I learned a ton while attending, and I also got to learn a bunch about industry-relevant topics as well. The networking opportunities were fantastic, too. I would highly recommend attending.”

“Attendees learn, foster new relationships with peers, and gain the latest insights from key subject matter experts,” said the Vice President of a Texas Bank. “The Abrigo team really goes above and beyond to engage attendees in a fun and dynamic atmosphere. You don't want to miss it.”

“ThinkBIG is a conference that I look forward to,” said the BSA Officer of a $1.2 billion bank in the  Southwest. “Abrigo ensures that learning material is pertinent and tailored to our needs. Through networking, I make valuable connections.”

Enjoy the Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort

Attending the ThinkBIG conference means enjoying the iconic and luxurious Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix.  Built nearly a century ago as the grandest hotel of Hollywood’s Golden Age, the Arizona Biltmore has hosted the likes of Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, Elton John, and presidents from Herbert Hoover to Barack Obama.

The Arizona Biltmore will be the site of Abrigo's 2024 ThinkBIG conference June 3-6Set on “39 lush acres set against the breathtaking backdrop of Piestewa Peak,” which is part of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, the Arizona Biltmore is a “must-stay property,” says Newport Beach Living magazine.

Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced architecture and the amenities of the Waldorf Astoria resort make the Arizona Biltmore a desert oasis. Attendees staying at the resort can take advantage of two world-class golf courses, tennis or pickleball, or escape to the Tierra Luna Spa, a Forbes 2023 four-star Spa Award Winner. They can enjoy one of seven sparkling pools, including peaceful, chic options or a family-oriented pool with a 65-foot triple waterslide.

The resort is also a stone’s throw from other adventures, such as a hot air balloon ride over the picturesque Arizona Sonoran Desert or a visit to the design studio and foundry for world-renowned Cosanti wind bells. And the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is less than a four-hour drive.

Receive continuing education credits

Sessions during the ThinkBIG conference are engaging and educational, but they also can help bank and credit union professionals earn required credits for continuing education. This conference is an interesting, efficient avenue for professional development.

Abrigo is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. Accounting and other NASBA CPE credits will be available during ThinkBIG, providing a streamlined avenue for up to 13 accounting CPE credit hours, depending on the sessions you attend. The financial crime professional track will be assessed by the accrediting bodies such as ABA, and Abrigo will post the number of hours when approved. Abrigo offers 10 general CPE credits that can be used for other accreditations such as CAMS.

Network with bankers, auditors, and regulators

Networking has always been table stakes to ThinkBIG conference attendees. Given the changing financial services landscape, we understand getting the chance to connect one-on-one with other banking peers, regulators, and experts is more important than ever.Attendees of the 2023 ThinkBIG conference network during dinner

Abrigo customers kick off the ThinkBIG conference’s opening day with Customer User Groups that provide networking, roundtable discussions, and best practices from Abrigo’s product experts.

Following the conference kick-off session Monday afternoon, attendees will meet with other participants and speakers throughout the 3 1/2-day event. Talk to other bankers and meet with experts during breaks, lunches, cocktail receptions, and a Taste of Arizona dinner event – a night of fun, delicious food, and networking.

Get a first look at the newest Abrigo products

Abrigo is constantly evolving, improving, and adding products to its technology line-up, and at this year’s ThinkBIG conference, attendees can have a first look at the latest Abrigo innovations. Product discovery labs and solution centers will be open throughout the event so attendees can get hands-on experience with Abrigo experts, see new products in action, and learn tips and tricks. Select Abrigo partners will also have exhibit times available to answer questions and share their solutions.

ThinkBIG conference attendees explore partner booths during 2023 eventAbrigo is a leading provider of software and services that help more than 2,400 financial institutions manage risk and drive growth in a rapidly changing world. We understand what a positive impact financial institutions make in their communities.
